Landslide Hazard Assessment Map as an Element Supporting Spatial Planning: the Flysch Carpathians Region Study

چکیده
Landslides and rock falls are among the many phenomena that have an impact on sustainable construction infrastructure safety. The main causes of landslides natural meteorological hydrological phenomena. In building design construction, environmental monitoring by identifying geotechnical hazards must be taken into account, as appropriate hazard assessment contributes to ensuring future Carpathian region in southern Poland is particularly predisposed landslide formation. This may favored nature shapes associated with high steep slopes region’s valleys. Another reason for concern flysch geological structure, which characterized alternating layers water-permeable sandstones poorly permeable shales, clays, marls. Furthermore, presence a quaternary weathering cover makes structure more susceptible processes tectonic formations. paper presents results study whose aim was elaborate detailed map selected area Polish Carpathians, using statistical methods. approach based Hellwig method, seems useful susceptibility local scale relatively small area. Spatial Support in Landslide Hazard Predictions Based on Map Overlays
This contribution considers the predictions of mass movements that have yet to take place and the support provided by spatial databases for the prediction. Conventional hazard maps tend to compile the neighbourhoods and dynamic types of the known past landslides, assuming that they satisfactorily represent the locations of future landslides. The latter, however, may also occur elsewhere. Spatia...
متن کاملLandslide hazard assessment: recent trends and techniques
Landslide hazard assessment is an important step towards landslide hazard and risk management. There are several methods of Landslide Hazard Zonation (LHZ) viz. heuristic, semi quantitative, quantitative, probabilistic and multi-criteria decision making process. However, no one method is accepted universally for effective assessment of landslide hazards. In recent years, several attempts have b...
متن کاملSpatial Assessment of Regional Environmental Vulnerability for Environmental Planning in the Eastern Region of Urmia Lake
Environment, development and sustainability are the three significant issues of worldwide concern. Environmental vulnerability and assessment of natural and anthropogenic activities impacts represent a comprehensive evaluation approach. The main purpose of this study is to present a comprehensive and novel framework in order to environmental vulnerability assessment using by spatial data a...
متن کاملLandslide hazard assessment in the Collazzone area, Umbria, Central Italy
We present the results of the application of a recently proposed model to determine landslide hazard. The model predicts where landslides will occur, how frequently they will occur, and how large they will be in a given area. For the Collazzone area, in the central Italian Apennines, we prepared a multi-temporal inventory map through the interpretation of multiple sets of aerial photographs tak...
متن کاملAssessment methodology for the prediction of landslide dam hazard
This paper represents a contribution to the study of hazard caused by the interaction between landslides and river courses. The effects of such interferences are often catastrophic and could include the formation of upstream lakes, potential dam failure, river bed dynamics and morphological alterations. These scenarios could be substantially reduced if it was possible to predict the eventuality...
